Would be writer turned would be Private Investigator, Richard Mahoney, swaps staring at blank pages and watering the office plant to help a man with no memory look for his daughter. April.

She could prove the missing link to a number of murders and missing teenagers in the town. But life by the seaside isn't just a case of donkey rides and 'kiss me quick' hats, who to trust is the real issue; is it the cops who seem ready to point the finger of suspicion at anyone who breathes? The ice-cream seller with the lifeless cat? Or the Lady Mayor with the shapely legs and alternative motives? Mahoney has to choose wisely. It could prove the difference between solving a case, or ending up dead.

April's Shadow will keep you guessing all the way to the final page, it did Mahoney.

2010-09-21 Mark .... This is a good read. An altogether better book than Gary's first novel "The Drowning Man" and anybody who has seen the film Little Voice will think of it when they read this book. It is Scarborough and seaside nostalgia all the way.A crisp style which augurs well for the third book to complete the trilogy.
